How much does real estate cost in Bavaria?

Real estate prices vary greatly. Munich as a metropolis including the surrounding region is considered very expensive. Some vacation resorts near the Alps are also more expensive than average. Rural regions such as Upper Franconia and Lower Bavaria are less expensive.

Property prices in the district of Starnberg are also quite expensive at around 6,800 euros/m² for condominiums and 9,100 euros/m² for houses.

Don't just search in your area

Our tip: Prices vary greatly between town and country, north and south and from district to district. A warehouse in Munich is comparatively expensive and difficult to find. It can be significantly cheaper in the surrounding area. The same applies to building plots and land, houses and condominiums. If it doesn't work out in your area, a neighboring region may be just the right place to buy a property in Bavaria - ideally commission-free from a private seller.
