Location
The apartment in Weidenweg is located at the eastern end of Weidenweg, close to Fockenbeckplatz and not far from Bersarinplatz, where the M10 streetcar shuttles between Warschauer Straße and the main train station. A few hundred meters away runs the Frankfurter Allee with the famous Frankfurter Tor. There is also the subway station of the U5 in about 5 min. walking distance, which goes to the main station in 14 minutes. Via the Ostbahnhof you can reach the airport BER by public transport in about 30 minutes. Parking spaces can usually be found well in the street.
The former GDR workers' and industrial quarter has gradually developed into a trendy district. Today, more and more families and creative people are drawn to Friedrichshain.
Today, Friedrichshain is one of the most attractive residential districts in Berlin. In the beginning, the alternatives, students, artists and punks shaped the cityscape, then there was building, renovation and change. Today, the district is a sought-after residential area for people with a little more money in their wallets, a family district as well as a scene and party district where tourists also come.
Accordingly, the infrastructure is good. Countless stores, restaurants, cafés and cultural offerings give residents and visitors the opportunity to spend relaxed or exciting evenings, depending on their preferences and on a good level. At the same time, Friedrichshain has retained its special charm: Lively with naturally grown neighborhoods, constantly on the move and still a bit unfinished.
Volkspark Friedrichshain at the northern tip of the district is particularly popular with young families. To the south, the district's borders extend to Stralau. The headland has been almost completely redeveloped in recent years, mainly with condominiums. Party people and tourists are mainly to be found around Warschauer Brücke and the RAW site, towards Boxhagener Platz it becomes more settled again. (Source: berlin.de)
