A security service guards the property 24/7. A concierge waits for residents day and night in the huge lobby. Strangers only have access if they have been registered in advance. Even the letter carrier does not enter the building. He hands the mail to the concierge, who then puts it in the respective letterboxes or informs the tenant or owner if they are absent.
When the Sony Center was built, the initial price (land + construction costs) was said to have been €10,000. And if you take a closer look at the materials, you will understand why it is so expensive. Nothing was spared here. Everything is of the finest quality! I'm always fascinated by the floor-to-ceiling windows. A sash like that must weigh a ton. Unbelievable! You can also see the elaborate construction method in the low energy certificate.
Thanks to ongoing renovations, the house is as good as new.

Potsdamer Platz symbolizes the center of Berlin and could hardly be more central. Buses, S-Bahn and U-Bahn are right in front of the building. Any number of underground parking spaces can be rented. The underground garage leads directly to the apartment.
There are two large malls and countless restaurants and hotels of all classes in the area. From snack bars to 2-star Michelin restaurants, everything is within walking distance.
Potsdamer Platz stands for the transformation of Berlin. Once a transport hub and later a symbol of reconstruction, it is now a center for culture and innovation. The KERB in the Sony Center will further transform this location. The food hall brings together a curated line-up of twelve restaurateurs who present the local street food scene, reflecting the combination of tradition and transformation.
In the Esplanade, below the condominiums in the Sony Center, there is a hip gourmet restaurant with a cool bar. Opposite, in the Ritz-Carlton, there is a highly acclaimed, casual restaurant with a changing lunch menu. If you prefer a cheaper option, there's a DB canteen just below our apartment (they cook fresh food here), which you can also access through the stairwell. As it closes at 3 pm, it doesn't bother us.
Living in the Sony Center is something very special! Right in the middle of it all, but safe and quiet.
