The Groß Tarup-Dorf development area is located in the south-east of the city of Flensburg, east of the Kiel-Flensburg railroad line, adjacent to the districts of Tarup and Sünderup and is connected to the Hochfelder Landstraße (K8).
Although the new development area is being built on the outskirts of the town, there are very good and short transport links to the town center, as well as to the B199 interurban road and the A7 motorway.
There are several daycare facilities, an elementary school and a community school with a grammar school in the district. There is a supermarket and a discount store within walking distance and the central Fördepark shopping center can be reached in 5 minutes by car.
