The solid residential house, built around 1900, has on the first floor (total 145.41 sqm) after a spacious entrance area 4 further rooms, a full bathroom, a kitchen and a large, 2023 newly roofed terrace (approx. 22 sqm) with a bright, friendly anteroom, which can be used as another room. The full bathroom is divided into an area with toilet and washbasin, as well as an area with shower (flat entry) and bathtub. There is also a sauna in a third part of the bathroom. The rooms on the first floor are heated by an oil heating system, which is in working order. The façade was upgraded in 1994 with a clinker-look thermal insulation system. The property is located not far (5 km) from the town of Demmin in a quiet village.
The Hanseatic town of Demmin is a small town in the eastern center of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Although it has belonged to the district of Mecklenburgische Seenplatte since the district reform in 2011, it has always emphasized its affiliation to Western Pomerania. Until then, Demmin itself had been a district town since 1818. With around 10,300 inhabitants (2023), it is one of 18 medium-sized centers in the state of M-V.
Demmin is located in the lowlands of Western Pomerania. Thanks to its many bodies of water and the surrounding landscape, the Demmin region is a popular vacation destination, especially for nature tourists. The three rivers Peene (federal waterway), Trebel and Tollense flow together in Demmin. The Peene flows from nearby Lake Kummerow through Demmin to the Szczecin Lagoon (Oder Lagoon, Baltic Sea). Side roads and cycle paths lead via Altentreptow to Neubrandenburg, via Dargun towards Malchin and Stavenhagen.
North of Demmin, the forest area known as Drosedower Wald and Woldeforst covers around 174 hectares. The 103-hectare Kronwald nature reserve is also located here. To the west is the Devener Holz on the left bank of the Peene and the Vorwerker Schweiz on the left bank. To the east of the town are the Sandbergtannen and to the south-east the Vorwerker Wald.
There are many shopping facilities in the town itself. There is also a hospital, schools, kindergartens, doctors' surgeries, retirement homes and restaurants.
Federal highway 110 runs east-west through Demmin between Rostock and Anklam, crossing the Peene at the Kahlden Bridge in Demmin. In a north-south direction, the federal highway 194 between Stralsund and Stavenhagen, which is part of the German Avenue Road, crosses the Peene at the Meyenkrebsbrücke bridge. The federal highway 20 (Lübeck-Wismar-Rostock-Stralsund-Greifswald-Neubrandenburg-Pasewalk) can be reached via the Jarmen junction, 24 kilometers to the east, or the Tessin junction, 38 kilometers to the west.
Demmin railroad station is on the Berlin-Stralsund line. It is served by the regional express line RE 5 (Stralsund-Demmin-Neustrelitz-Berlin).
Demmin has its own city bus, which runs every hour on weekdays. Other regional lines serve the surrounding area, with individual journeys running all the way to Rostock, Greifswald, Malchin or Stavenhagen. Local transport is primarily operated by the district's own transport company MVVG, which has its headquarters in Demmin.
