Kindergartens are located in Eckel, Klecken and Nenndorf as well as in other neighboring villages.
Klecken elementary school is approx. 1000m away. Secondary schools are located in neighboring Nenndorf, Hittfeld and Buchholz.
Shopping facilities (supermarket, bakery) as well as a pharmacy, doctors, an Asian restaurant and a tapas bar are within walking distance (approx. 400m). A post office is located in Klecken and is also within walking distance (approx. 1000m). Further shopping facilities can be found in nearby Nenndorf and in Buchholz, approx. 5 km away (supermarket, DIY store, consumer electronics store, furniture store).
The clubs in Eckel, Klecken, Hittfeld and Buchholz (as well as the swimming pool and outdoor pool) offer a wide range of sports facilities. There is a tennis club in Klecken.
