The 6-storey building in Bremen is a listed cultural monument. Designed by the Bremen architects Friedrich Schumacher and Walter Görig between 1950 and 1952, it embodies the conservative-modern architecture of the post-war period in Bremen. Originally conceived as the headquarters of the Neue Deutsche Schiffspfandbriefbank AG, the building represents the economic upswing of the Hanseatic city and remains a symbol of successful urban planning to this day.
