Herrsching am Ammersee is an up-and-coming town with around 11,500 inhabitants. It impresses with its high recreational value - the direct lakeside location, the beautiful surrounding countryside, the proximity to the mountains and the good connections to Munich by S-Bahn or by car via the A96.
There are kindergartens, a primary and secondary school and two after-school care centers in the town. Several grammar schools are in the immediate vicinity and are easily accessible by bus and S-Bahn. The S-Bahn station is a 3-4 minute walk away. A new grammar school for Herrsching is currently under construction.
Herrsching offers very good shopping facilities for daily needs. Several supermarkets, pharmacies, beverage stores, stationery stores, vegetable and organic stores, bakeries as well as restaurants, boutiques, cafés, bars and ice cream parlors etc. are in the immediate vicinity of the apartment and can be reached on foot or by bicycle in a few minutes.
