The Lower Bavarian district town of Deggendorf, with over 35,000 inhabitants, is also known as the Danube town and "Gateway to the Bavarian Forest" due to its location in the Danube valley, opposite where the Isar flows into the Danube and at the foot of the Bavarian Forest. Conveniently located directly at the intersection of the A 3 and A 92 highways, Deggendorf has a large catchment area and within a 30-45 minute drive you can reach Cham, Dingolfing, Landau, Landshut, Passau, Pfarrkirchen, Regen, Regensburg, Straubing and Zwiesel.
The second largest airport in Germany - Munich Airport "Franz Josef Strauß" - is only about an hour's drive away by car.
