Sightseeing: the royal Herrenhausen Gardens. One of the absolute favorite places and one of the most impressive sights in Hanover are definitely the Herrenhausen Gardens, consisting of the Georgengarten, the Großer Garten, the Berggarten and the Welfengarten.
The tram line 9 runs through Bothfeld (nearest stop approx. 1,200m - approx. 14 minutes on foot), lines 3 and 7 also run on Podbielskistraße. The nearest tram terminus "Alte Heide" (line 2) is just an 8-minute walk from the apartment (just over 600m).
Bothfeld is a differently structured district. Since 2003, the Klein-Buchholz shopping park has been located on Sutelstraße (approx. 18 minutes' walk away at a distance of around 1,500m), within which an area is known as "Platz der Klein-Buchholzer Bürger". Events such as the weekly market, shooting festival and other festivals take place there regularly.
Bothfeld is bordered to the north by the Autobahn 2 and to the south by the Mittellandkanal and Podbielskistraße. To the west, Ada-Lessing-Straße and Langenforther Straße form the border with the Sahlkamp district, while Im Heidkampe, Laher Graben and Kirchhorster Straße form the border with the Lahe district to the east.
The residential area consists mainly of detached and terraced houses of various construction periods, including detached houses, garden courtyard houses and the Laher Wiesen grass-roofed housing estate. In the south on Podbielskistraße, office and administrative buildings, shopping centers and multi-storey residential buildings dominate.
Opposite the Bothfeld district cemetery on the other side of Burgwedeler Strasse, the Große Heide woodland stretches as far as Isernhagen-Süd.
Bothfeld is home to the Protestant-Lutheran churches of St. Nicolai (also known as Bothfeld Church) and St. Nathanael, as well as the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit, built in 1963.
