or B312, Stuttgart Airport and the nearest junction to the A8 highway are approx. 10 km away. A good bus infrastructure connects Aichtal with Filderstadt-Bernhausen (connection to the S-Bahn), Stuttgart-Degerloch (light rail), Nürtingen (Neckar-Alb-Bahn) and Neckartenzlingen.

Aichtal is a town in the middle of Baden-Württemberg, about 18 kilometers south of the state capital Stuttgart in the district of Esslingen. The municipality, which was created in 1975 as part of the municipal reform, consists of the three districts of Grötzingen, Aich and Neuenhaus and has a population of around 10,000.

Aichtal lies on the southern edge of the Filder plain in the valley of the Aich, a left tributary of the Neckar, which gives the town its name and is separated from the Neckar valley by the ridges of Galgenberg, Kleinbergle and Schaichberg. The district of Neuenhaus, situated in the corner of the valley fork formed by the Aich and Schaich rivers, is largely part of the Schönbuch Nature Park. The tuberous marl slopes of the Aich valley are covered by meadows and orchards. The municipal area extends over an altitude of 295 meters at the Grötzingen sewage treatment plant to 498 meters on the Betzenberg in Schönbuch.

Neighboring municipalities are Filderstadt to the north, Wolfschlugen to the northeast, Nürtingen to the east, Neckartailfingen and Schattdorf to the south, Walddorfhäslach (district of Reutlingen) to the southwest and Waldenbuch (district of Böblingen) to the west.

The town can be reached by car from Stuttgart, Reutlingen and Tübingen in around 25 minutes via the main roads 27 and 312. Stuttgart Airport and the nearest junctions to the B8 freeway are around ten kilometers away. The B 27 runs on the four-lane Aichtal Bridge between Aich and Neuenhaus, the B 312 on a two-lane bridge between Grötzingen and Aich. There is only a connection to the B 27 from and to Stuttgart; the connection from and to Tübingen, which has been demanded by the city and industry for years, has not yet been realized. The state road 1185 leads from Nürtingen via Aichtal and Waldenbuch to Böblingen.

Bus routes 75, 167, 190 and 809 connect Aichtal with Filderstadt-Bernhausen (connection to the S-Bahn) or Stuttgart-Degerloch (light rail), Nürtingen (Neckar-Alb-Bahn) and Neckartenzlingen. On weekdays, line 760 also runs two to three times a day from Neuenhaus via Waldenbuch and Böblingen to the Mercedes-Benz plant in Sindelfingen. All public transport can be used at a standard rate within the Stuttgart transport and fare network.

In addition to the primary and secondary school Grötzingen with Werkrealschule, which offers all-day care, there are elementary school in Aich and Neuenhaus. Secondary schools are located in the neighboring towns of Nürtingen and Filderstadt as well as in Neckartenzlingen. The Nürtingen adult education center has a branch in Aichtal. The Karl-Schubert-Seminar, an anthroposophical vocational school for social work, where the theoretical part of the training to become a state-approved curative education nurse can be completed, was also located in the Neuenhaus district. The seminar has been located in Wolfschlugen since 2011.
