The house is not at a right angle to the street, but is oriented towards the course of the sun: The house is closed to the street, facing north-east, like a castle and opens up to the garden side, to the south and west, with large triple-glazed floor-to-ceiling sliding doors and large windows. The grey facing brickwork, the anthracite-colored Resoplan panels combined with it and the window frames and exterior doors in the same color convey a modern overall look - and 'hide' the fact that the house was built using timber frame construction. The shading systems from ROMA, also anthracite, ensure a feel-good atmosphere and temperature on the sunny side: the sunlight can come in, but the heat stays outside.
The heart of the house is the straight concrete staircase with individually shaped steps, which is adjoined by a concrete wall. There are spacious built-in cupboards under the stairs. This element is characteristic of the entire architectural style: modern, high-quality and functional. These attributes also particularly suit the kitchen, which is integrated into the dining area with its white fronts and ceramic worktop as well as high-quality kitchen appliances from Bosch and Bora. The dishwasher is at a comfortable working height, the waste disposal system is directly under the worktop and existing sockets can be used for a water treatment system or a battery-powered vacuum cleaner, for example. Both the kitchen cupboards and the cupboards belonging to the dining room in the room divider, which both divides and connects these areas, offer plenty of storage space. The curved wooden top made of ash is a particular eye-catcher. Parts of the same tree can be found on the benches in the hallway and in the corner window of the living room as well as on the powerful dining room table. The concept of separating and at the same time connecting is repeated in the fireplace between the dining room and the spacious living room, which can be seen from both sides and is independent of the room air. The living area is fitted with floor-to-ceiling sliding doors so that there are no obstructive door panels to get in the way of the openness and lines of sight, but it is still possible to separate this area from the rest of the house. Two offices, one with a large panorama window, a guest or sports room, a shower room, a large utility room and a separate room for all the building services round off the space on the first floor.
The upper floor is characterized by the open concrete wall in the middle and the large windows that are also used here. The parents' area consists of a bedroom, a dressing room and a bathroom with shower, bathtub and sauna. A laundry shaft leads directly into the utility room. Separated by a gallery room and connected by a bookcase, there are two children's bedrooms on the opposite side of the house - again separated by a shower room with two washbasins. The false ceiling has been omitted in all bedrooms and the light beams are visible, giving the rooms a great sense of lightness. On this floor there is also a small storage room, in which a water connection for a washing machine was also installed during construction, and access to the spacious, fully insulated attic, which has standing height in the middle.
