The district center is located around 5 km northeast of the center of downtown Frankfurt, above a former arm of the Main, on both sides of a highway following the ridge upstream on the slope of the Lohrberg. The Lohrberg belongs to the geological formation of the Berger Ridge. It is the easternmost foothills of the Rheingau wine-growing region and has its smallest vineyard, the Lohrberger Hang.

On the eastern edge of Seckbach at the Berger Warte and the Leopoldsäule on the Berger ridge is the highest point in Frankfurt at 212 m above sea level.

In the west, Seckbach's district boundary runs along the middle of the A 661 highway, in the south along the middle of the Riedgraben north of the street Am Erlenbruch, including a large section of Borsigallee to the west of Kruppstraße. The Seckbach industrial area borders the smaller Enkheim industrial and commercial area, the Riederwald district and Fechenheim. The easternmost point of the district is located east of Vilbeler Landstrasse, above Florianweg (Bergen) and includes the buildings there.

The westernmost point of Seckbach is at the intersection of Friedberger Landstraße and the A 661. In the north, the Seckbach district includes the old customs house (1775), the area of the former large transmitter Heiligenstock (1926-1945) and the DENA transmitter (from 1947), the larger southern part of the Heiligenstock park cemetery, extending to just before the Berger Warte, to the Leopold Column and the large Berger Warte transformer station.

Until the highway was built, Wilhelmshöher Straße provided a direct connection to the central Bornheimer Berger Straße. Another important road is Borsigallee, which largely belongs to Seckbach, branches off from Am Erlenbruch and on which the A 66 begins 100 meters behind the eastern border of Seckbach. The north-western border of Seckbach is partly formed by Friedberger Landstraße. After more than five years of construction, the "eastern bypass" of the A 661 was opened in 1995.

The district is connected to the Frankfurt subway network by the U4 line. The U7 line also runs to the south and west with the stations Gwinnerstraße and Kruppstraße, which are served by both lines. The Ost depot is located in the Seckbach area.
