Exclusive and self-sufficient - mountain farm/hunting lodge in the Rhön

With a view to the future, when water and energy become scarce, a retreat into a self-sufficient life is possible here, protected from the consequences of extreme weather conditions. The building supply for the 600 square meter house was intelligently renovated from an economic and environmental point of view. On the one hand, this concerns the water supply with its own sources, the water treatment in the house with separate drinking water and service water networks. In addition to an oil heating system from 2008 as auxiliary heating, a wood heating system supplies the house with heat; the firewood is transported from the large wood store via a conveyor belt directly next to the wood gasifier. In summer, the drinking water is heated by the 13 MWh solar thermal system, which is used to support the heating system during the transitional period. The PV system is designed for self-consumption and feeds the emergency power supply in the event of a power failure.

In a secluded location in the heart of the Rhön, at an altitude of 700m in the most beautiful region of the Hochrhön between Wasserkuppe and Kreuzberg in the middle of the forest, surrounded by numerous hiking routes and the European cycle path.
The large vacation apartment and dormitory can currently accommodate up to 18 guests.
There is a stable, henhouse, garden and greenhouse, dog kennel, workshop, butchering room (prepared), cold store, tractor garage and 4 car garages for self-catering or hunting.

In a secluded location with good transport links. Directly behind the house is one of the most beautiful mountain regions of the Rhön with wonderful hiking and cycling routes. The most popular ski lifts and cross-country ski trails are only 5-10 minutes away by car.
