The Leibniz private school, a Waldorf school, the Nordakademie and a business academy are also located in Elmshorn. There is a hospital as well as general practitioners and specialists. For leisure, Elmshorn has various clubs, cinemas, theaters, the bathing park, Krückaupark, Steindammpark and Liether Wald.
