Location
With around 1000 inhabitants, Obermoschel is the smallest municipality in the Donnersberg district (Rhineland-Palatinate) to have town status.
It is part of the Nordpfälzer Land association of municipalities, which has its administrative headquarters in Rockenhausen and an administrative office in Alsenz.
Obermoschel has a kindergarten and an elementary school. Secondary schools are located in the surrounding towns.
All important facilities for daily needs, such as bakeries, butchers, supermarkets, restaurants and small stores are within easy reach, some of them on foot.
Leisure activities include numerous hiking and cycling trails, local clubs and regular events, e.g. at the Landsberg castle ruins.
The transportation links are well developed thanks to the nearby A61 freeway (towards Koblenz, Mainz, Wiesbaden and Frankfurt) as well as public transport connections by bus and the train station in Alsenz.
