Location description
The apartment is located in the southern part of Barmbek-Nord. In the course of redevelopment measures, the city of Hamburg has carried out construction work in recent years which has led to a considerable increase in the attractiveness of the district north of the Barmbek underground/railway station and will continue to do so. In terms of urban development, however, it is already one of the most modern districts in the city - one that bears comparison with the "famous" Osterstrasse in Eimsbüttel, for example.
The residential complex on Schwalbenplatz is particularly popular: the large park-like green area with tall trees and a fenced-in playground is an oasis in the middle of the city where you can relax right on your doorstep, while life is raging just one street away: all the stores, restaurants, pubs, cafés, doctors and everything else you need for life can be found just around the corner in Fuhle - Fuhlsbüttler Straße. The approximately 2.3 km long street section between Hebebrandstraße and Barmbek station is probably the longest shopping street in Hamburg.
Local transport and recreation
The local transport connections are excellent: Habichtstraße (U) = 6 min on foot, Barmbek (U+S+ buses in all directions). The city park can be reached on foot in approx. 15 min.
The building
The building - like other residential buildings on Schwalbenplatz - is a listed building. They are historic brick façades that reflect the housing estate construction of the 1920s. They are an excellent example of the Neues Bauen style during the Weimar Republic.
