The builders were way ahead of their time in terms of energy efficiency.
According to the building description, the bungalow has approx. 60% better insulation than the DIN guidelines of the time prescribed.
For example, the hollow layer between the aerated concrete and the facing brickwork was additionally insulated with a Hyperlite filling and the roof was fitted with 150 mm thermal insulation.
The windows have color-coordinated exterior aluminum shutters (some electric).
In 1996, a prefabricated EPDM roof tarpaulin in accordance with DIN 7864 (elephant skin) was professionally laid on the existing flat roof construction for additional insulation and reinforcement. A new gas heating system was installed in 2006.
In 2024, the external chimney was newly insulated and clad.
A fully electric garage door, which can be conveniently controlled by remote control, was also installed this year.
Just one step takes you from the covered entrance area into your barrier-free home. You are greeted by the spacious hallway with a view of the spacious living room and the atrium garden behind it.
The quiet area with the bedrooms and the main bathroom is conveniently separated by a door between the hallway and hallway, so that you can pursue various activities in the front kitchen and living room area, while the rear area is nice and quiet.
The bungalow has large, double-glazed windows in all rooms, which flood the rooms with natural light.
In the rooms facing the atrium, this almost creates a conservatory feeling.
The garden area with a small pond and fountain was planned and designed by a landscape architect. The optimal south-west orientation makes it an excellent place to relax.
The atrium is secluded from all sides, so you can enjoy maximum privacy.
The decorative and practical bridge, which leads over the garden pond to the rear sun terrace, was custom-made and professionally installed by a carpenter in 2020.

The house is located in one of the most beautiful areas of Glückstadt, just a stone's throw away from the Elbe dyke with various opportunities for hiking or cycling.
In the immediate vicinity there is a pretty pond and an idyllic footpath, directly on the Fleth, along which you can reach several supermarkets on foot in just 10-15 minutes.
A little further away (5 minutes by car, 10 minutes by bike, 30 minutes on foot) is Glückstadt's city center with its picturesque market square, which is known beyond the city limits, and various delicious restaurants. The train station is also located here, from where you can easily travel to Hamburg or Sylt, for example.
