The municipality of Herdwangen-Schönach is located around twelve kilometers north of Lake Constance, on a ridge in the Upper Linzgau, between the towns of Pfullendorf in the north and Überlingen am Bodensee in the south. It is less than three kilometers from Aftholderberg to Pfullendorf. Aftholderberg is a small village to the south of Pfullendorf.
Aftholderberg is connected to the rest of the municipality and Pfullendorf via a close-knit bus service. The neighboring town of Pfullendorf has 13,600 inhabitants. As a medium-sized center, it provides all the services required for daily needs. Schools to grammar school / authorities / administration / retail / specialist stores / restaurants / leisure facilities.
Pfullendorf is home to nationally and internationally renowned companies such as Geberit, Kramer etc. and is a base for the German Armed Forces.
