Location

In 1975, the formerly independent municipalities of Karlsdorf and Neuthard were united to form Karlsdorf-Neuthard. Karlsdorf was founded in 1813 by the former inhabitants of today's Alt-Dettenheim. With the permission of the then Grand Duke Karl von Baden, the people found their new home here as a result of the increased flooding of the Rhine. In gratitude, the village still bears his name today. Karlsdorf is connected to the neighboring towns of Bruchsal (approx. 6 km away) and Karlsruhe (approx. 18 km away) by bus and light rail. Both towns, as well as the surrounding communities, can also be easily reached by car.
