The municipality of 23820 Pronstorf is located in the district of Segeberg, approx. 13 kilometers east of the district town of Bad Segeberg and 30 kilometers west of the Baltic Sea beach. The Hanseatic city of Lübeck is around 11 kilometers away.
Pronstorf is considered the gateway to Holstein Switzerland and has around 1,527 inhabitants. The entire municipality is made up of a large number of districts in idyllic rural surroundings in the Ostholstein Hills and Lakeland nature reserve. The main town of Pronstorf is characterized by the neighbouring large noble Pronstorf estate. The estate grounds are located directly at the southern end on the eastern shore of Lake Wardersee. Goldenbek is located three kilometers south of Pronstorf on state road 69 and is home to numerous municipal facilities, such as a kindergarten and the village community school. Eilsdorf is around three kilometers to the east on district road 69, Reinsbek is around seven kilometers southeast of Pronstorf on state road 71. Strenglin is around three kilometers north of Pronstorf on state road 69. Wulfsfelde is around six kilometers east of Pronstorf on state road 71. There is a good connection to the A20 motorway 7 km away at the Geschendorf junction.
