Ehestorf is located in the south of the city of Hamburg, in Lower Saxony, and is easy to reach thanks to the A7 and A1 highways and the connection to the Hamburg public transport network (HVV). The village with its 1,280 inhabitants belongs to the municipality of Rosengarten. Together with the neighboring villages around the Kiekeberg, Alvesen, Vahrendorf and Sottorf, the village of Ehestorf has an elementary school (grades 1-4), a kindergarten with nursery places, a Protestant church and a sports club with a tennis club (around 1,000 members). Secondary schools can be found in Nenndorf or Hittfeld. These can be reached by school bus, which departs from Ehestorfer Dorfstrasse (200 m walk). Nearby you will find the museum village at Kiekeberg and the Schwarze Berge wildlife park as excursion destinations, otherwise the hilly landscape with its numerous hiking trails offers a unique nature experience for walkers, cyclists and horse riders and is characterized by its rural character.
