Kirchhörde, together with neighboring Lücklemberg, is one of Dortmund's best and most sought-after residential areas, the south of Dortmund.
The district is a good 6 kilometers south of the city center. To the south are large forest areas such as the Dortmund city forest, Bittermark and Rombergholz, to the south-east the golf course and the Wannebach valley. The distance to the B 54 and A 45 is approx. 2.5 kilometers.
Just a few kilometers to the south is Herdecke an der Ruhr with the wonderful flair of a small southern German town and the Hohensyburg with the Hengsteysee and Harkortsee lakes.
